The trip to Seoul to go for seven hours from Jakarta by using the Korean Airlines. We will land at Incheon International Airport, a modern international airport is built on the coral islands far from the city center. Shortly before landing, as usual, the pilot has been informed that we would land a few moments. Time when it was shown at 07.00.
Visible from the air before it landed, is the area of small islands which are rocks in the middle of the ocean. Furthermore, the plane began to lower and eventually landed on the airport runway, which apparently is located on the seafront, which is in the middle of the atoll. Before we get out of the plane, impressed Incheon Airport is a luxury airport, busy, and crowded passenger aircraft. Incheon is very futuristic architecture and serbacanggih. Almost all the walls that separate the outside, and each room is separated glass transparent solid. Supporting facilities such as escalators, free mineral water, shopping malls, restaurants, special room to smoke, and other facilities are available is very good. Transportation to Seoul has varied, from the cheapest to the luxurious. For mass transportation trains and buses are very cheap take us to the city center. The taxi was varied, the normal tariff in bright colors until the cab black limousine. Uniqueness is seen in this country when we noticed that traveled highway vehicles. All the vehicles are not operating model similar to the custom in Indonesia.
Invisible Japanese cars through the streets of Korea. The government forbids its citizens to use vehicles other than Korean brands, especially Japanese brands. This is how Korea became king in his own country. I use the bus transportation is easy and convenient to drive to the hotel in Seoul. Bus transportation system was equipped with well-organized global positioning system (GPS), so their movements can control the crowded road conditions or the swing. Buses also operate with a brand new look Korean, ready to take passengers to all corners of the city. Incheon is a city on the coast about two hours from Seoul. Along the way look Incheon Airport turned into a modern city. In fact, once this is a coral island which lies on the coast of the Korean peninsula. I passed the wide highway, smooth, and comfortable through dozens of unique bridge construction, form and color combined with a tunnel through the green hills.
After passing the highway, the signs have been seen entering Seoul with the buildings skyscrapers compact between the hills that lie in the distance. The bustle along the road indicating Seoul as a destination business center investors. Seoul Population about 15 million people, more than Jakarta, but no visible clutter, because most of people activities underground or favorite transportation, the subway. Seoul City split the Han River, with a width of 400 meters more. To support the activities of dense metropolis, on the Han River is no less 27 bridges in various designs for highways, railways, and especially for pedestrians. Busway is also available in Seoul, but without the barrier along the road where the operational capital. Similar fast trains in Japan or in Europe, were also seen passing quickly. In Seoul, called Express KTX, that looks like a plane.
Namdaemun Gate
IN the middle of downtown Seoul, there is a Korean traditional building of two storeys stood firm at a traffic protocol. Therefore, anyone who through the main street in Seoul will see the splendor of the gate that contrast with modern buildings surrounding it. Namdaemun Gate name, which means the Gate of the Great Eastern, built thousands of years ago as a symbol of the royal gate of the eastern part. The atmosphere around Namdaemun gate similar to the monument of Arc de Triomphe in Paris, which is around the corner Avenue des Champs Elysees. The tourists gathered observe the uniqueness of many historic buildings, while motorists on the road which circled the gate or the usual crowd watching without expression. This gate on fire last year, so the Korean government had to build it back to the symbol of this downtown Seoul maintained its existence.
Gyeongbok Palace
Gyeongbok is a palace located in northern Seoul. This palace is the largest and most beautiful palace in Seoul which was opened to the public. To the palace to take a long time because it was out of town. This palace is even more beautiful seen as located in the hills Bukhansan the background. When I visited Gyeongbok Palace was heavy rain, making it difficult to get around outside the palace. There are 10 major buildings spread interspersed with manicured gardens, so refreshing. Inside, the People's National Museum of Korea, the Korean traditional buildings of five floors.
Almost in every corner of the main door of the building is a palace guard dressed in traditional Korean war. This palace is a symbol of royal majesty and the Korean people, the main building there is the King of the Throne room. While part of the palace, there are dozens of bertiangkan lotus pond granite pillars. Visiting the palace, our thoughts will be brought to the Korean community living conditions in the past.
Emperor Korean kingdom when it was doing important activities of governmental affairs at the Gyeongbok Palace, such as receiving foreign envoys, run the trial, and religious rituals until the coronation of the emperor, is also done here. It was seen from the drawings and photographs on display in the castle wall.
Behind the palace is called Amisan park, dotted with traditional stone arrangement and a beautiful expanse of garden. Because the rain was still flushed, I finally returned to the bus to continue the tour to visit another site.
The Seoul Olympic Park
SEOUL OLYMPIC PARK is one of the modern tourist sites located in Seoul. Area of 2000 hectares was built specially to welcome the 1988 Seoul Olympics.
There are several international sports facilities in this complex; stage covered pool, tennis stadium, stadium fencing, gymnastics stadium, hotel Parktel five-star athlete, and his office KONI Korea. Other supporting facilities is the Olympic Museum and the Museum of Arts, Seoul Sport University, Fort Mongchon, World Peace Gate, lake and garden sculpture 1988 Olympic Symbol.
Half of the Olympic Park area surrounded by the Han River, and another by the highway Songpa-gu with a wide sidewalks and convenient for pedestrians. While in Seoul, I stayed at the Hotel Parktel with view to the Olympic Park.
Every day the view of modern building decorated with Olympic Park Olympic forest greenery, lakes, and hills background into meal every time. The atmosphere is more alive with the many Seoul citizens who exercise from morning until late afternoon.
If we trace all corners of the gardens of Olympic Park, such is not in the metropolis, because of the shady trees to the hills cover the eye. Not to mention the view of the park along the river or lake with the sound of running water. Presents entirely comfortable atmosphere, clean, and beautiful. Pendapa-small pendapa with typical traditional Korean roof decorated Olympic Park is filled with visitors who want to relax.
Look younger generation in Seoul, also take advantage of all activities in the park that provide this serbalengkap facility. Glory World Peace Gate as the main door of the Olympic Park is located at the crossroads Songpa-Gu, when observed to have some uniqueness. The building is a monument with a height of 24 meters, 62 meters long, 37 meters wide and made of sturdy steel frame.
Structure of the winged monument is evoke the grandeur and this keindahan.Tugu wide like wings that curved walls painted something unique and contains the work of high art. The painting is a combination drawing dragons, phoenixes, tigers, and turtles.
Itaewon
On my second day in Korea, to coincide with Friday, where the usual practice their religion berjemaah prayers at the mosque. Initially did not think would get the mosque who performed these prayers.
When talking with a few Koreans, they convey information that is the Islamic Center in Itaewon area. This area is where ordinary strangers living, diverse ethnic look to interact with Korean residents, especially the United States soldiers.
Famous Itaewon many souvenir shops and stores that sell a variety of daily necessities from various countries, including Indonesia. Indonesian cuisine can we meet at one of these hills area restaurants.
Seoul Central Mosque is located here, at the location in the hills. Journey to Itaewon is very difficult to use buses, especially for newcomers like me. Therefore, the four of us Muslim citizens of Pakistan, Egypt, and Turkey took a taxi to Friday prayers in Itaewon. There was an interesting experience for which we have shared a taxi driver in this town.
Along the way, the driver who was fluent in English, asked permission to go to the toilet. Invited the four of us, but our best in a cab. Koreans have seen honesty from his taxi driver who believe we left in a cab with the engine running for about five minutes. He was relaxed, without worry as we drove back to the Islamic Center.
Before arriving at the scene, has appeared Muslims of Arab descent, Malays, and Africa in droves to worship, met with Korean residents who did not look at going to the mosque. After entering the courtyard Islamic Center, we hurried to the place of ablution on the inside. Prayer congregation began, led by a priest preaching Arab descent.
English is the introductory sermon holy Koran interspersed with verse, and a long sermon about 40 minutes. Having finished the prayer on the second floor mosque, visible sights Seoul, Han River, and the hills surrounding the city.
In the parking lot, manager of the mosque to give a piece of bread with a carton of milk for the whole congregation that will leave the mosque. At that time, I met the workers and students who deliberately to Indonesia to execute salat.Itaewon far from Itaewon, Seoul Tower is seen towering over the hills
