Nearly nine million people visit the Louvre and the number of visitors to one of the largest museums in the world increased 5.6 percent from year to year, while the Eiffel Tower recorded 7.1 million visitors, which also increased 5.6 percent.
Pompidou Centre, a museum designed by the architectural style of high technology by renowned architect Renzo Piano of Italy, visited by 3.6 million people. Musee d'Orsay, a museum that holds collections of Impressionist paintings wing and post-impressionism in the museum that was once a railway station, attracting 3.1 million visitors.
"Visiting museums and monuments is the main purpose to visit Paris (about 65 percent)," the official said. "By the numbers 72.6 million visitors, the number who visited Paris 64 cultural sites surveyed increased by more than 2.5 percent" from year to year, he said.
"Most visitors to the museum is a citizen of the United States and Britain," he said, stressing that the number of visitors to Brazil, Russia, and China has increased substantially.
